“I will only respond because my Sister Mo Demie asked for my view…
Please nobody should abuse my late father here o, I didn’t come to your page to comment: All this sudden noise and write up to show that “Buhari was playing politics”……
When did it become a crime for politicians to play politics? Were they not voted in to play politics? Will it be wrong to develop our roads, infrastructure, free education, return oil blocks to the State instead of individuals? What is this noise all about? Jonathan was voted for by the South West in 2011, the same SW voted for Buhari in 2015, what is all this noise all about the SW going for Buhari? Obasanjo, the direct beneficiary of #June12 is from the same State with MKO, why didn’t he play politics and declare June 12?
Jonathan had opportunity for 5 years to do same, he rather gave Abacha from the North posthumous honor, pardoned Ex-convict from the West, Alams from the South…What do you call that? Is that politics or chemistry? 16 years opportunity to acknowledge #June12 they refused to use the #PoliticalUndertone…
So are you expecting Buhari to use Biological or Chemical undertone to take such decision? Why are you guys fixated about those supporting Buhari, is it not a choice and must you dictate to others? You brought up religious sentiments prio to 2015 election, yet blamed Buhari fr being the religious bigot….
Jonathan was running from one Church to another, Sambo openly told them in the North that they must not vote for Buhari because Osinbajo is a Pastor of a big Church….Who is a religious bigot here? I mean, who was running from one religious organisation to another in 2015 because of politics? Pastor Bosun came up with that sudden apostasy, wrapped up Jonathan PDP politics in the name of “wake up call” message. I’m happy that I’m still here. I asked him when most of you were analyzing that heretic message that “Jonathan is fulfilling prophecy”…..
I asked a simple question: “Which prophecy is Jonathan”? Pastor Bosun went ahead to say “even if the Islamic party (APC) presents a Christian Governor in Lagos, you must not vote for him, you must vote for the other party(PDP)……Wait, who was using religion? Obasanjo removed Senate Presidents at will, removed any opposing voice, removed Fayose for a small insult, removed Ladoja with thugs in Ibadan….Who are you calling “DICTATOR”? BUHARI……… Obasanjo withheld Lagos State fund for 3 years, not minding how Lagosians would eat, Yaradua got there and released the fund…
NASS members were abusing Buhari openly, messing up everything at will, Fayose has been abusing Buhari for 4 years now…..not a single State in Nigeria has been denied their constitutional rights because of politics till date, all their funds, Paris fund, bail out, FAAC etc…But who is the DICTATOR? BUHARI. Jonathan ensured that NASS opposition members were locked out including Tambuwa the Speaker of the house. They had to climb gate to gain access…..Jonathan empowered OPCs in Lagos and they were destroying anything in Ikorodu to Ojota that looked like opposition party. Orga of DSS was used to invade APC secretariat, Journalist arrested and Newspapers siezed, we forgot all these….
Ekiti was militarised, Fayose was given power from Aso rock to order Military guys at will. Fayemi the incumbent at that moment was rendered powerless that he was shouting when Police commissioner was used by PDP and a guy was shot…All these videos and pictures are still here (google is your friend)…
But who is the dictator? BUHARI. Jonatahn met FX+ECA at $62 billion+. He DEPLETED it to less than $30 Billion in 5 years Jonathan sold crude oil for 5 years at an average of $100 per barrel of 2.2 million daily (2010-2014). Did he add a DIME to Nigeria purse in 5 years? NO. Buhari the ILLITERATE sold oil at an average of $50 of less than 700,000 barrel at some points because of militancy, yet had moved that FX to $47 Billion in 3 years. Don’t say how much did he borrow if you don’t even have the figure borrowed between 2010-2015 without adding a dime to FX. Who is the ILLITERATE? BUHARIIII.
Jide Omokore, Aluko and oil goddess Alinson made an oil deal of N1 trillion and chose not to remit to Nigeria under GEJ. Did anyone raise eyebrow? INTEL of Atiku refused to remit to NPA, not until last year that “ordinary” Hadiza the NPA boss challenged INTEL and insisted the funds must be remitted. A Christian Professor had been leading JAMB all through Obasanjo to Jonathan yet for 40 years of JAMB, only N52 Million was remitted to FG….A Muslim Professor who was appointed just in two years of handling JAMB remitted over N15 Billion……FIFTEEN BILLION o….
So who is following after righteousness? For five years of Okonjo Iweala was paying over 45,000 ghost workers unabated, yet just within 3 years, “ordinary” Kemi Adeosun removed such nonsense…I ask again who is more effective? Ordinary Abuja metro lane took 11 years from OBJ period that he initiated it….”
A gallery attendee here,

That’s the way of it!
Pressure! Pile it on…
Except you deign another
4 years of dryness!
Another season of being
for all, yet for none!
Come on now, write yours ..
Yes, a letter you dimwit.
Pressure! Pile it on…
No more shoe string living.
Oh, how great were dem days
Breakfast in Dubai! Choi!!!
Croissant from Paris,
Caviar from Petersburg.
Cometh this man, cometh
Pile on the pressure!
He cannot even kaput in peace
Fool! Tight-fisted bastard.
Cause confusion, anarchy.
Trust our people, they’d
lap it all up. Write, grumble.
All aggrieved, unite!
Come, complain, harangue.
No more years, no more
for the scroungy old fool!
Confuse every issue,
Confound every one!
Coalition, yes! Nice word.
Tell the farmer, he is leading
the charge! What nonsense!
How can we live through
another season of this man?
We are united. We love ourselves.

*Alatika – a local word meaning revellers.
At every point in our nation’s electoral preparation, my ‘towns man’, former president Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo, turns up with what he believes to be pertinent interventions, on the incumbent.
Did that to his own anointed successor, Umaru Musa Yar’adua; did it to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, who he had ‘anointed’ a few years earlier; and now to incumbent president Muhammad Buhari. And the narrative is usually the same – “he was not who I thought he was”, or “he is not as good as I thought” etc.
And how the media laps it up! Many who need little encouragement, who seek for justification for their views that nation really is bad, and irredeemable, wallow in it, and trumpet it abroad.
Well, not this fellow Egba man. Not just an Egba man, but from the same section as him (Owu)! Our villages are a in fact a few kilometres apart (he claims Ibogun Olaogun. Yours truly is from Abalabi). So, permit an ‘Insider’ to put across his humble take on this latest intervention.
Unlike most Nigerians and I daresay foreigners, some of us from the same neck of wood as OBJ know him wella! (permit my Nigerianese for “very well”). Which is what? If it is not of him, by him and for him, then it is not good enough. Anyone honest enough from the area I referenced above will tell you the same thing. Ask Owu people about what went down in the appointment and enthronement of the current Olowu of Owu. Ask the Awori people of Otta about some large tracts of land etc.
My take is this, OBJ has a messianic complex, which circumstance has ‘used to confuse’ him that he has a big say in all things Nigeria. But he is wrong. He is a mere mortal, with failings as or more than most! Yet, we continue to humour him prescience that no human being has. He is living long, yes. So do many other Nigerians. He has been thrust in leadership positions, yes. So have many other Nigerians, in other fields of endeavour. When was the last time you heard the doyen of Accountancy, Akintola Williams, pass caustic comments about the leaders of his profession after him, for example?
If Obasanjo, who has led Nigeria for almost 12 years – as Head of State for 3 years, 11 months and as civilian president for 8 years (the latter at an advanced old age! Note, he himself really does not know his age. He claims to be 80, whilst his surviving class and play mates as a kid are well into their 90s, some of who used to call him ‘egbon’ in primary school!!!), could not solve Nigeria’s multifarious problems, it is hypocritical of him to vilify those who have had less time in running the affairs of this nation!
Yar’dua had all of 2 years+, Jonathan almost 6 years. Both were his choice (directly and indirectly) PMB had had just over 3 years in total managing the affairs of Nigeria – 8 months as military Head of State, 2 years+ as civilian leader. Yet, OBJ, our OBJ, wants all to believe these leaders failed, while he succeeded? Okay o. Me, I get my thinking faculties intact!
Abegi, ebora Owu, pack common for road! Allow Nigeria some peace. Last time I checked you cannot be confused with being the God over Nigeria. Why not counsel privately? Why must it always be your voice heard on the roof top?
With respect from your “towns man”.
I WANNA WAGER A BET. IF OBJ REALISES THE RESPONSE TO HIS LATEST INTERVENTION IS NEGATIVE, EXPECT A DISCLAIMER! No, you people did not read the thing correctly; or (I love this one), it was sent out without my approval! Or, Trump-like, it is fake news!

INEC says that it is too early to begin the campaign for 2019 presidential elections in its reaction to the declaration of Governor Ayo Fayose for president.
Even though this may be as stated in the Electoral Act, this comment by the INEC Chairman shows, with respect, political naivety. Reality is that campaigning never stops in politics, in one form or the other! Even a politician’s utterances (or silence!) amount to campaigning.
Which brings me to the kernel of this piece. In the recent past, there appears to be a cacophony of voices who have suddenly constituted themselves into ‘friends’ of President Muhammadu Buhari (PMB), urging him not to re-contest in 2019; either (a) to take care of his ‘fragile’ health, or (b) to take the ‘Mandela option’ of being president for just one term, or (c) warning him that those encouraging the president to seek a second term are his ‘worst enemies’.
There is another group who try very hard to interpose their views as the aggregate views of Nigerians by claiming that, (a) a second term for Buhari would be ‘strange’ indeed, or (b) PMB does not deserve to second term because the economy has ‘performed badly’, or (c) poor masses are suffering etc., or (d) the war on corruption has been lost, or (e) cattle rustlers are wrecking havoc all over the place, or (f) the president’s party, APC has been unkind to its chieftains who helped the president into office; and a plethora of other arguments.
Interestingly, I have seen that most of these commentators are either those who, in the height of the president’s health challenges, condemned him to a crypt prematurely and rejoiced that their nemesis is on the way out; those who think the president has affected their free access to our public commonwealth; or those who truly appreciate that with PMB’s block vote in the North is unassailable and likely to be replicated despite how the economy performs; or active participants in the government that was in office for 16 locust years!
Well, news flash!
(1) PMB is constitutionally allowed to try for another 4 year term in office as President, Commander-in-Chief!
(2) NIGERIANS, not ‘opinion shapers’ would ultimately determine who their president would be, through the ballot box.
(3) It shows the panic of many, does it not, that now that the economy is slowly showing signs of recovery, they all of a sudden deign it wise to ‘counsel’ PMB on what is best for him. There was even this political operative who had been an active participant in the worst rape of our democracy who now thinks he knows what’s best for Nigeria! What insult on my intelligence!!!
I have no apologies to say these:
(1) God sparing his life and mine, I intend to be an active campaigner for a second term for PMB. Does it mean we have no better options? You may disagree, but for me, yes. Why? Because contrary to the norm, we have for the first time a president who is determined to get it right! Has he got it right yet? Far from it! But he’s had just TWO (2) years at trying! I’d rather a fellow who has shown unusual commitment to the cause of Nigeria in practical terms than folk who promise to get it right but whose antecedents show they really DO NOT GET ANYTHING RIGHT, even their families!
(2) I am equally ready to spend and be spent for his re-election, as the future of my children and grand-children (who want to live in Nigeria, and not go to ‘the abroad’ despite being so privileged) depend on it!!! I understand that you may have your preference for president – and I respect that. All I ask is that you respect mine too! It is only fair, right?
(3) I will intervene and air my views where I see anyone try to malign this president as is within my capacity to do. Why? I am tired of subterfuges, innuendoes and manipulation of Nigeria’s fault lines of ethnicity and religion by politicians and their followers, just to get ahead. It may work with others, but by gosh, it will not work with me! Stake out your stall, offer your goods, and if it appeals to me, I might buy (but I seriously doubt it!)
Above represents my personal views, and I humbly state that I have no apologies for them. Why? I have functional faculties by His grace and I can make up my own mind, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
And by the way, I am not interested in being a public office holder; so I am not angling for political appointment; which if offered I shall reject, as I have a better task master!
